The missions retreat was very well done. God was wholly apparent throughout the two days I was taping the retreat for the Spiritual Formation department. It got me intrested in going to a missions trip next year, or going with my dad to Africa this year. It’s all really cool. The first night started with missions teams worshipping and receiving a message for the night. Worship was amazing, and I can only guess to why; it was because this group of people are wholly devoted to serving God. The second day had each missionary team training for the trip. The neatest part of the training was their trip to the Palasades Mall. At the mall, the teams had to get out of their comfort zones and do four things; ask people they don’t know to play “leap-frog”, go to Barnes and Noble and find a book in five minutes that they think would be useful to take with them to the mission field, play “pattie-cake” with a total of five people for the team at Best Buy, and lastly, talk to people about God at Target. Out of all of them, I was able to tape the leap frog..
In conclusion, the retreat blessed me. It affected me to the point that I felt like I was missing out on something amazing and life-changing this year. I can only hope that next year I have the motivation and gumption to join a mission.
